Beaumont&Beaumont has been engaged to recruit an experienced employment lawyer with at least 10 years PQE to join a Commonwealth Government owned corporation on a permanent basis.

Our client operates in a discreet regulatory environment and is undertaking some major reform projects across its operations that will impact the current and future workforce.  In addition to providing general employment law advice, and working with business areas to improve recruitment and HR practices, the successful candidate will manage a number of significant employment and non-employment litigation matters. The Legal Services team is a small but collegiate environment where quality is emphasised above quantity, and where people are valued.

Extensive employment law experience is essential, including experience contributing at a strategic level to, or advising on, workforce development and HR practices. High level stakeholder management experience is also essential, including prior in-house experience, perhaps gained on secondment. Experience working in, or with, the Commonwealth Government would be advantageous but is not essential.  An interest in developing junior lawyers, and an ability to work autonomously and manage a practice, are elements of this position that will appeal to relationship-focused lawyers who understand the importance of "getting out there" and engaging positively with technical and operational personnel.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the capabilities needed to lead people through change and cultural reform. This means the successful candidate will be able to lead inclusively, collaborate effectively, think strategically, communicate with impact and deliver outcomes.

An attractive salary will be offered to the successful candidate including a generous superannuation component.  The position is located in either Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne.
